No. “Turkey teeth” horror stories are almost always about crowns: healthy teeth filed down to pegs. Composite bonding is additive: where a tooth needs shaping it stays under a millimetre and within enamel, against the 60–70% of the tooth a crown removes. The treatment is reversible. It is exactly the procedure we recommend to avoid the crown regret you have read about.

No. There is no deposit and nothing to pay before you travel. You pay at the clinic when you arrive, exactly the amount in your written quote, and every payment is invoiced. If your plans change before you fly, you owe us nothing.

Sometimes a little. And it is worth being precise. Many cases need no reduction at all. Others need shaping of under a millimetre, always within enamel: to align an edge when one tooth sits ahead of its neighbour, or to let the bite close correctly. For comparison, a crown removes 60–70% of the tooth. That is why bonding counts as a conservative treatment, even when a little shaping is needed.

Most patients need no anaesthetic at all. The work stays on the enamel surface, which has no nerve supply, so there is usually nothing to numb. You lie back, and the longest part is simply keeping your mouth open.

Typically 3–7 years before it needs a refresh, depending on your bite, diet and habits. When the time comes, a refresh is quick and painless, and the tooth underneath stays intact.

Composite can pick up surface stains from heavy tea, coffee, red wine and smoking. More than natural enamel does. Regular hygiene visits and an occasional professional polish keep it bright. We are upfront about this because you deserve to decide with full information.

The price difference comes from overheads. Rent, wages and running costs in Istanbul are a fraction of those in London, Berlin or Paris. A written record of your treatment that you keep for life. It lists every tooth we treated (in both UK and international numbering), what was done to it and how much shaping, if any, it needed; the composite brand and exact shade of each layer; the bonding and polishing systems used; and standardised clinical photos taken with a shade reference. You receive it as a PDF and on paper before you leave Istanbul. If you ever need a repair or an addition (with us or with any dentist, anywhere) they start from an exact record of what is on your teeth. One honest note: composite can pick up stains over the years, so a dentist may still fine-tune the shade on the day. The Passport makes that far easier.

Bonding suits chips, gaps, worn edges, minor misalignment and colour corrections on fundamentally healthy teeth. It is not right for everyone. Severe misalignment, heavy grinding or gum problems need addressing first. Send photos and our dentist will give you an honest answer, including “not yet” if that is the truth.

Only if you want a whiter overall smile. Whitening is optional and priced separately; if you choose it, it is done first, before the bonding. Composite is colour-matched to your teeth and does not change colour with whitening products. We will advise on timing during your assessment; whitening 1–2 weeks before treatment is the usual plan.
